The Investiture of the Gods, Part 2

in English

In the epic conclusion to this legendary story, the forces of good and evil clash in a series of monumental battles for the fate of the world. As the Shang king’s tyranny reaches its peak, Jiang Ziya leads the Zhou army, calling upon divine powers and ancient heroes. Betrayals, alliances, and epic duels unfold as gods and mortals fight to fulfill their destinies. The final battle will determine the future of China and the fate of the gods.

This book is based on the second half, chapters 51 through 100, of The Investiture of the Gods, one of the most famous novels in classic Chinese literature. It is a gripping tale of powerful gods, scheming mortals and epic battles, but it also explores the dilemma faced by loyal government officials who must choose between their country and its corrupt leader.

This book was originally written in the 16th century by Xu Zhonglin but has never before been translated by a native English speaker. Now best-selling author Jeff Pepper retells the story in contemporary language for modern readers, making it readable while preserving all the core elements of this dramatic story.

This book covers the second half (chapters 51 – 100) of the story. It is in English only, and is available in paperback and ebook formats.  You can also purchase the entire story (all 100 chapters) in English, Chinese, or a combination of Chinese, pinyin and English, as well as a Chinese-only audiobook.
